I posted this on my English Literature blog, though as I know many PPLS students in general, and LEL students in particular, are interested in exploring a career in publishing, I’m re-blogging this post to you too!
If you can distil your thoughts into 300 words, and send them off with your well-targeted CV and brief cover letter outlining your passion and suitability for the world of publishing, then you’re in with a chance of gaining a graduate traineeship with prestigious Canongate publishers based here in Edinburgh. You’ll need to get working on things over this weekend though (maybe a tall order if you’re mired in exam revision etc) as the closing date is 6th May.
If you’re keen to explore publishing as a career (and from talking with English lit students I know many of you are!), but still need to gain more experience via internships, work experience etc, then take a look at the paid internships on offer from Penguin over the summer.
