What ever stage you’re at in your university life, it pays to go to the Careers Fairs! Do your research before hand as there are different employers and different types of employers on the different days. Explore who’ll be there via Careers Fair 2015 and Careers Fair Third Day .
In your early years you can check out what experience and skills employers look for in their recruits, and opportunities to gain experience via volunteering, work experience etc. eg check out Alzheimer Scotland if you’re looking for experience to enhance your Clinical Psychology experience. You’ll also get a feel for the wide range of possibilities in the workplace. Go with an open mind, be prepared to think beyond the obvious!
If you’re in your penultimate year, investigate internship opportunities, and explore possibilities,
Final year and beyond, get insider knowledge on careers and employers you’re interested in – extremely useful for making effective applications
